Raphael Omoto

Dr. Raphael Omoto is a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)–prepared psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) and educator with extensive experience in psychiatric nursing, advanced clinical practice, and graduate-level instruction. He began his nursing career by earning an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Anoka-Ramsey Community College in Cambridge, Minnesota, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minnesota. He later completed both his Master of Science in Nursing (MSN-PMHNP) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degrees at Northern Kentucky University (NKU) in Highland Heights, Kentucky.
Dr. Omoto serves as an instructor in Walden University’s Master’s program, where he supports graduate nursing students in developing advanced competencies in psychiatric assessment, evidence-based practice, and psychopharmacologic management. His professional background includes years of clinical experience in inpatient psychiatry, substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, outpatient mental health care, and the management of treatment-resistant depression. In addition to his academic role, he owns and operates a private psychiatric practice, where he specializes in comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and individualized treatment planning for complex mental health conditions. His career reflects a strong commitment to advancing psychiatric nursing education, improving patient outcomes, and expanding access to high-quality mental healthcare.
