Dr. Sattler received her Ph.D. in higher education in 2004 from the University of Toledo. She has minors in both research and measurement and educational technology. She has a master’s degree in mathematics education and a bachelor’s degree in pure mathematics. She has taught mathematics continuously since 1983.
She began teaching for Walden University in 2007. She has served as treasurer of the American Mathematics Association of Two Year Colleges (AMATYC), Midwest Vice President, President, and is immediate past president of the organization. She is past chair of the Ohio Mathematics and Science Coalition , served as Treasurer for 8 years,and is currently Chair-elect. She has presented nationally and internationally on the topic of distance education and presented on this topic at the National Mother’s of Twins Club convention in August of 2010. She attended the International Congress on Mathematics Education (ICME) in July of 2012 in Korea and ICME13 in Hamburg, Germany in July, 2016. She has served as a member of the PARCC Ohio Educator Leader Cadre to promote the Common Core State Standards and the Common Core Assessments. She is a founding Member of Transformaing Post-secondary Education in Math (TPSE-Math) and serves as the co-chair of the Teaching Practices Committee. She is co-chair of the 4th National Math Summit. She presently serves on CAP for Walden.
