Nancy Moss

Dr. Moss received her Ph.D. from the University of Utah in Health Education and Health Care Administration with a focus on stress management. Her research was the use of stress management for the prevention of adverse health events. She has maintained a research interest in women’s health, as related to childbearing. Her Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) was earned at the University of Kentucky with a clinical specialty of nurse-midwifery and a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Pittsburgh. Her clinical practice area is as a certified nurse midwife with a post-doctoral certificate as a family nurse practitioner (FNP). Her academic career began as a faculty member at the University of Kentucky leading to academic administration of practitioner programs starting in 1991 and serving as the interim associate dean for the graduate programs at the University of Cincinnati, College of Nursing from 2003 until 2012. Her expertise in online education allowed the development and implementation of curriculums for nurse practitioner programs in an online delivery option. Her background includes developing the curriculum and implementing the nurse-midwifery program at East Carolina University for the state of North Carolina as well as several nurse-midwifery practices for rural communities and other University programs. Because of her clinical expertise as a nurse practitioner (NP) and in online education she has experience in curriculum and program design, development, and implementation which includes MSN level practitioner and doctoral programs, both Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Ph.D. She has served as a senior site visitor as well as a member of the accreditation board for the American College of Nurse-Midwives organization.

She began her tenure at Walden in the School of Nursing as a contributing faculty in 2012, became the coordinator for the DNP program, and is currently the program director for the Ph.D. in Nursing and DNP programs.
