Mary Lou Morton earned her Bachelor Degree in psychology with a minor in biology graduating with honor from Thiel College, PA. She taught elementary school in Delta Junction and Fairbanks, AK, for 21 years. Mary Lou then moved to Bloomington, IN, to complete her PhD in Curriculum & Instruction at Indiana University. She concentrated on literacy and multicultural studies. She accepted a position as a reading faculty at the University of South Florida, Tampa, FL. As a teacher in Alaska, she worked with the University of Alaska to deliver courses for teachers in using cooperative learning, inclusive educational methods, and the writing process.
