Dr. Mary Kate Reese is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor in Georgia. She has worked in the mental health field for over 30 years in various agencies and settings and with many different populations. She has been in counselor education for over 20 years and most recently was a professor for 20 years at Argosy University, Atlanta, where she taught in the master's program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and the doctoral program in Counselor Education and Supervision. She also provided oversight to the Counselor Education and Supervision doctoral program.
As a Core Faculty member with Walden University’s Counselor Education and Supervision (CES) program, Dr. Reese also maintains a small private practice working with individuals and couples with issues including anxiety, depression, and sexual concerns. She serves as a site visit team chair and/or team member for the Council for Accreditation of Counseling Related Educational Programs (CACREP), reviewing counseling programs at other schools seeking CACREP accreditation. Her current research interests include counselor education, clinical supervision and gatekeeping in the counseling field, counseling ethics, sexuality, and spirituality.
