Mary Maffei

Dr. Mary Ryan Maffei began her nursing career in 1983, graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Her MSN was earned in 1999 as she became a pediatric nurse practitioner. In 2012, she graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice. After practicing as a pediatric nurse practitioner in primary care, she laid the ground work for the pediatric nurse practitioner program at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and established the AVANCE Clinic for the underserved. She teaches part time in the graduate school at the University of the Incarnate Word and currently works at Children's Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.
