Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
Dr. Jordan graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia, with a BSN in 1976. She attended Old Dominion University and completed her MS (Nursing) degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. In 2009, she graduated from Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing (now called Frontier Nursing University) with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. Since 2011, she has facilitated health related and nursing courses both on land and online for undergraduate and graduate students. At Walden University she has taught a variety of courses in the nurse practitioner program.
Her clinical experience includes eight years in ICU, two years as a Registered General Nurse in Scotland, and more than 33 years working in several areas as a family nurse practitioner including university student health, women's health, family practice, and internal medicine. For the past 21 years, she has worked as a primary care provider within the Veterans Administration including two years working in home based primary and palliative care.
She has a keen interest in osteoporosis risk assessment and that was the topic of her Doctoral Capstone Project. She is certified by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry as a clinical densitometrist (CCD). She has presented the results of her research and has lectured at various national conferences.
