Dr. Martin Ratcliffe left his homeland of Zimbabwe in January 1984, to follow the calling to America. Dr. Ratcliffe has taught in public schools in Zimbabwe and Florida, serving as a head administrator in Zimbabwe and in a number of private Christian schools in the U.S. Prior to entering higher education. He was an assistant education professor at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, and also served as an assistant elementary education professor at Oklahoma Wesleyan University. He has a passion to see students change their world for the good by becoming servant leaders.
Dr. Ratcliffe also desires to share his doctoral research with educators at all levels—from future teachers to school superintendents—to help them increase their effectiveness in using research-based educational strategies to effect change in student academics. Dr. Ratcliffe co-authored Schools that Make the Grade: What Successful Schools Do to Improve Student Achievement, based on his doctoral dissertation. This book encourages and equips teachers to serve as highly-effective educators in this era of accountability. Dr. Ratcliffe also teamed up with his former dean as a motivational speaker to bring a message of hope to educators.
