Marsha Kaufman

Due to her military affiliation with the U.S. Army, Dr. Marsha Kaufman’s 25-year career in health, wellness, and fitness is diverse with opportunities. With her formal training in health education and promotion as well as sports medicine, she has served in many roles. From healthcare to corporate wellness, public health, and for-profit fitness centers, she has worked with populations in various states and abroad to educate and implement health strategies and programs to improve health outcomes. She holds several certifications for personal training, group fitness, and health education (ACE, ACSM, AFAA, CHES, CSCS, NASM, RYT-200).

Dr. Kaufman moved into higher education ten years ago with her expertise, a dynamic appreciation of teaching health education, and the health sciences in both the online and on-campus curriculums at the undergraduate and graduate levels. At Walden University, she teaches for the undergraduate program in the College of Health Professionals for both course-based and the Tempo/CBE Program. Dr. Kaufman’s research interests focus on physical activity, behavior change, motivational theories, weight management, mind/body modalities, public health, and methods of health education delivery.

In addition to presenting certifications and continuing education as a trainer for an international fitness organization for over 16 years, she has also presented at the Online Learning Consortium’s Conference and as a speaker at local community events. She is a member of the SOPHE Midwest Regional Chapter and was recognized with the 2019 Leadership of Excellence Award for the College of Health Sciences through Walden University.
