Dr. Mark Cohen has a PhD in Information Systems and also a Juris Doctor degree. He has been involved in the education field for approximately 20 years. He was a Professor of Information Technology at John Tyler Community College for 13 years and also served as Department Chair for 10 years. He has also taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate course at institutions such as Loyola University and the University of Mary Washington. Dr. Cohen has also served on various outside committees such as Grade Appeal, Academic Integrity (Chair), Great Expectations, and IT Advisory.

Areas of interest include Cyber Security, Database Management, Networking, Decision Support Systems, and HCI. Dr. Cohen has taught a variety of courses at Walden University such as Human Computer Interaction, Information Systems Service Management, IT Infrastructure, Application Software Security, and Quality Management Standard IT. He is a current member of the Richmond Information Security Chapter (ISC2).
