Marie Woolery is an Adjunct Professor in the MSN PMHNP track. She works part-time as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Southern Rhode Island. She cares for patients across the lifespan and has experience caring for individuals with severe mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and substance abuse. She is licensed to practice in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Idaho.

She graduated with her Master of Science from Walden University and followed this with intensive training in a 12-month Residency Program. This provided her with experience working with a diverse population of patients with assorted behavioral health issues, from academic problems to trauma victims, under the tutelage of experienced practitioners. Her primary focus is reducing harm using medication-assisted treatment (MAT).

Professor Woolery began her academic career at her local community college, providing didactic and simulation lab instruction to nursing students and facilitating their clinical experience. She then continued to Wilkes University and Norwich University, where she teaches didactic, develops courses, and provides clinical instruction in their PMHNP programs. She is now a full-time faculty member in the new ABSN program at Johnson and Wales University.
