Maria K. E. Lahman, is a professor of qualitative methodology and dissertation mentor and has worked in higher education since 1991. She is the author of multiple research poems, articles on research poetry methodology, the textbooks Writing and Representing Qualitative Research, Ethics in Social Science Research: Becoming Culturally Responsive, An Introduction to Qualitative Research: Becoming Culturally Responsive and a contributor to the Routledge edited text Expanding Approaches to Thematic Analysis where she wrote the chapter, I Have Hated Analysis: Poetic Thematic Analysis. Maria challenges herself to weave social justice and peace building into her pedagogy and scholarship. Maria’s scholarship is focused on creating ethical solutions for culturally complex methodological situations, identities in research, young children, mothering, and qualitative writing representation.
