Lisa Quintis
Dr. Lisa Quintis recently retired from public education after 27 years. Dr. Quintis has a master’s degree in elementary reading and literacy, with endorsements in reading and teaching English to students of other languages (TESOL). Dr. Quintis’s doctorate is in teacher leadership with her dissertation focusing on the impact of instructional coaching with teachers. She has experience as a school and district level instructional coach and currently works part-time as an instructional coach consultant. Dr. Quintis is a member of the International Literacy Association (ILA) as well as New Mexico International Literacy Association (NMILA) and is an executive board member for the state organization. She has presented at the national, state, and district level on topics of literacy instruction and practices. Dr. Quintis collaborated on an article titled Three Perspectives of Planning, Implementation, and Consistency in Instructional Coaching which was published in Journal of Educational Research and Practice. She has taught on ground campus courses in foundations of educational practices, reading and language arts methodologies, adult education, and online courses for teaching diverse learners and classroom management. Dr. Quintis has had opportunity to work as a subject matter expert in the development of a graduate level course on teacher leadership and an undergraduate level course on instructional practices. Her interests are best practices for classroom instruction, especially in reading and literacy, as well as coaching teachers on strategies and approaches for best instructional practices, professional development on classroom instruction and teacher leadership at the district and school level.
