B.S. Nursing (BSN)
Lillian D. Parker received a Ph.D. in Nursing from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Ga. She is certified as an Advanced Practice clinician in Adult Mental Health Nursing and has a graduate certificate in Gerontology. Dr. Parker has been a part-time faculty member in the School of Nursing at Walden for7 years. Her experiences include teaching in the classroom and Web-based courses, clinical and practicum supervision of BS and DNP students. Courses taught include: Community Nursing, Gerontology, Family communications, Psychiatric Mental Health, and Medical Surgical Nursing. Her research interests include: Older Adults, Mental Health Issues and Spirituality . She has held a variety of positions in nursing education and management within hospital and community settings. She has published and presented on a variety of topics related to teaching and learning as well as clinical practice. Her research interests include Health issues that impact Older Adults: Such as Alzheimer's Disease, Suicide and Wellness. Dr. Parker currently practices as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Mental Health with the Veterans Administration in Atlanta, Georgia.
