Laura Sorg
Dr. Laura Sorg is a Registered Nurse and resides in Ohio. Her academic degrees include DNP, University of Minnesota; MS, Wright State University; and BSN, Nazareth College. She has a certificate in Nursing Informatics from Indiana University. Dr. Sorg is board certified in Informatics Nursing by the ANCC, is recognized by HIMSS as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems, and is designated a Certified Nurse Educator by the NLN. She joined the School of Nursing at Walden University in June 2013 as a contributing faculty member specializing in nursing informatics. Her research interests include workload management in nursing and the use of technology in staff education.
Professionally, Dr. Sorg has held a variety of practice roles including staff nurse in medical-surgical areas and intensive care, home health nurse, and clinical evaluator. With over twenty-five years of healthcare informatics experience, she has been involved in hardware acquisition and maintenance, software administration and management, and clinical system selection and implementation. Dr. Sorg currently is a clinical informaticist at a mid-western hospital system.
