Doctor of Education (EdD)
Dr. Siaya received her PhD in Educational Administration and Policy Analysis, with a specialization in Comparative and International Education, from the University of Minnesota. She also has a M.A in Curriculum and Instruction and a B.A in Political Science and Economics, also from the University of Minnesota. In addition, she attended the University of Cairo while studying political science and Georgetown University where she participated in the Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate program. She has traveled extensively, especially to Africa where she taught at the University of Kenyatta in Kenya and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco. Much of her professional life has been spent in Washington DC where at various times has served as the Assistant Director of Research at the American Council on Education, a Senior Research Fellow at the United Negro College Fund, and Director of Survey Research at the American Dental Education Association. In these positions, she wrote grants to support research initiatives, conducted national research projects that included national surveys and focus groups, developed policy papers, and published research articles on behalf of the organization. Recently, she has been teaching online research courses, working on doctoral committees, and serving as the URR Coordinator in the School for Higher Education.
