Latasha Ellis, PhD, LCSW is a professor, psychotherapist, and national speaker. She enjoyed teaching roles since 2012. She has taught in a combintation of settings from full day continuing education seminars to graduate level courses.

Latasha's passion for the field of clinical social work is exemplified by her role as Faculty and Field Instructor. She has served as a faculty member at Walden University since 2021. As a Field Instructor, she has trained students at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, University of North Carolina-Charlotte, University of North Dakota, Old Dominion University, University of Texas-Arlington, and Norfolk State University.

As a psychotherapist, providing services since 2001, Latasha’s diverse clinical experience stretches over a multitude of settings, including the state of MD Department of Corrections, the VA School for the Deaf, Blind and Multi-disabled, community mental health clinics, and inpatient and outpatient medical facilities.
Though currently in private practice, Latasha works closely with area hospitals for the provision of psycho-social services to bridge the gap between physical and mental health disorders. She holds a certificate of Clinical Supervision from the National Association of Social Workers, North Carolina Chapter.

In addition to her clinical experience, Latasha has provided seminars for medical/healthcare professionals throughout the country on “Managing Challenging Patient and Family Behaviors” and “Challenging Geriatric Behaviors”
Latasha holds a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from Morgan State University and a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. Her MSW degree holds a concentration in Clinical Social Work with a primary specialization in Mental Health and a secondary specialization in Management and Community Organization. Latasha earned her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the Institute for Clinical Social Worker in Chicago, Illinois.
