Dr. Kat Holloway has dedicated her career to the study and practice of existential and phenomenological psychology. She began her academic journey at Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, PA), where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology before completing her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology. Since 1999, she has worked extensively in the addictions field and in relationship and marriage counseling, integrating clinical expertise with philosophical depth.
Dr. Holloway is currently a core faculty member in the Counselor Education and Supervision doctoral program at Walden University. She has authored books—published under Edger and Peoples—as well as book chapters and journal articles on counseling and philosophy, with a particular emphasis on phenomenological research methods and dissertation writing.
In addition to her academic work, Dr. Holloway runs an online counseling and coaching practice, offering video, text, and phone-based support to clients. She lives on a 105-acre farm in Jack, Alabama, with her three young children, where she integrates her love for philosophy, education, and sustainable living.
