Dr. JoNataye Prather is a social worker, consultant and speaker who support students, parents and educators with resources to empower, educate and transform their professional and personal lives.
Dr. JoNataye is dedicated to helping all learners achieve their degree dream! She has worked with K-12 students and educators, support parents to help transition their children into college, and she provides practical resources to support undergraduate and graduate students.
Dr. JoNataye is a servant leader with over 15 years experience in the social work and education field as a college administrator, assistant professor, education coach and non-profit consultant. Students, educators and human service practitioners nationwide have benefited from her insightfulness, compassion and spirit of enthusiasm to transform their organization, professional and personal lives.
Dr. JoNataye's research interests are school social work, microaggressions, solution-focus conversations and culture competency. She has conducted trainings and presentations within the fields of social work and education. Dr. Prather wrote the forward and conducted the research for the book, "The Best College Student Survival Guide Ever Written" and soon to be released book to support PhD students.
Dr. JoNataye received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and African-American Studies (1999), Master’s in Social Work (2001), and PhD (2010) from The Ohio State University.
