Dr. Jeni James Arndt is a Fort Collins, Colorado native. After graduating from high school, Dr. Arndt lived away for 26 years. During that time, she graduated from Colorado College (BA, Sociology), University of Colorado, (MA, Geography), Purdue University (MS in Special Education with three k-12 licenses, and PhD in Literacy and Language). She also served in the Peace Corps, in Morocco and lived in Denmark and Mozambique. In Mozambique, she served as Middle School principal and International Baccalaureate (IB) Coordinator. She is a strong advocate for education and literacy.
Dr. Arndt joined Walden in 2005 and worked in several programs before becoming the Director of the Office of Field Experience for the Riley College of Education. Helping to design and grow the licensure programs in special education and literacy education was a passion of hers. Arndt also held positions as Program Director and Product Manager for Laureate, Inc. Eventual accreditation for the College of Education at Walden was a highlight of her career. Arndt then went on to serve on the Board of Examiners for CAPE. Arndt’s education interests include assessment, teacher preparation, and literacy. Arndt is excited to be back working for Walden after a seven-year absence working for positive social change as a State Representative in the Colorado Legislature.
