Janet Strickland holds a Ph.D. in Elementary Education, with concentrations in Educational Research and Educational Technology. She received her degree from the University of Alabama and has been teaching research and Social Studies methods since 2000. She started her education career as a teacher in elementary schools in Georgia and Alabama. She has extensive experience as a journal editor. She has edited journals for the Georgia Middle Schools Association and Georgia Association of Teacher Educators. She is the co-founder and current editor of the Notable Books feature of Social Studies Research and Practice, a leading journal for Social Studies professionals. At Walden, she serves on dissertation committees and works with doctoral candidates to produce quality research.
