Dr. Jane Ann Sullivan received her DNP in Forensics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis in 2012. She has been a nurse practitioner for 21 years. Her area of expertise is Elder Abuse. Dr. Sullivan began as Contributing Faculty with the MSN, NP program in the school of nursing at Walden in 2019. She is dual certified as an ACNP (1998) and FNP (2005). Dr. Sullivan has an extensive background in critical care and emergency nursing. As one of the first ACNPs in Memphis in 1999, she developed the Trauma Nurse Practitioner team at Regional One Health (ROH), a level one trauma center. Currently she is working both in ROH’s outpatient trauma clinic and as a trauma hospitalist NP. Dr. Sullivan has worked part-time in Primary Care in a variety of settings. She currently works through locum tenen assignments in both primary care and inpatient care. Dr. Sullivan was instrumental in establishing an Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses course in Memphis as the local program Director and instructor. She is certified in Emergency Nursing (CEN), Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). Historically, she has served as a President of the Greater Memphis Area Chapter of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). Through AACN, she also served as a special interest consultant and site coordinator for the AACN Thunder Research Project to evaluate the effects of heparinized and nonheparinized flush solutions on the patency of arterial pressure monitoring lines.
