Jamil E. Davis, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C, NCACII, MAC, believes in providing the educational tools to assist students in obtaining a high quality education and becoming valuable members of the health care profession. Mr. Davis' goal is to encourage personal development and prepare students for further education and lifelong learning. Recognizing our close relationship with our community, he strives to meet and achieve its continual and changing health care needs.

As an Educator and Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), Mr.Davis strives to provide quality educational experiences that prepare the healthcare workforce for a diverse, ever-changing health care environment. In addition to his expertise as an Educator and Advance Practice Registered Nurse, he also has practical experience in higher education and administration.

Jamil holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing earned in 2008 from Albany State University, obtained a Master of Science degree in Nursing with concentrations in Nursing Education and Family Nurse Practitioner from Albany State University in 2012. In 2015, Mr.Davis completed a post master’s certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing at Valdosta State University. He earned a certification in online teaching and informatics as well. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Nursing with a concentration in Nursing Education at Hampton University.

Mr.Davis is a member of various professional organizations. He serves as an active member of The Georgia Nurse Educator Association, Atlanta Black Nurses’ Association, Georgia Medical Reserve Corps, Mapping (Psychiatric Nursing Associations for APRNs), Georgia Nursing Leader Coalition, American Nurses Credentialing Center, and American Academy for Nurse Practitioner.

In addition to his responsibilities as an educator, he practices as an APRN in primary care settings, acute care settings, long term care settings, and inpatient and outpatient psychiatric mental-health settings, caring for clients across the lifespan.

Mr.Davis' practice and clinical teaching locations include the following facilities in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area; Athens Regional Medical Center, DeKalb Regional Crisis Center, DeKalb Medical Center, Eastside Medical Center, Georgia Regional Hospital, Grady Health System, Emory Hospital, and Gwinnett Medical Center, where he currently holds hospital privileges.

Additionally, Mr.Davis serves as an advisor for Men in Nursing Georgia. He also volunteers as a mentor for youth programs and volunteer for the homeless population in his community. Jamil's mission is to make a change within his environment for a better tomorrow and look forward to making an impact at Walden University and its surrounding community.
