Jay Miller
Dr. James (Jay) Miller served several years as classroom teacher of special education in public schools, did Educational Diagnostics in a local public school system before moving to full time work at the University of New Orleans where he attained the rank of Professor. Jay taught classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels, was Chair of the Department of Special Education and Habilitative Services and served for several years as the Executive Associate Dean of the College of Education at the University of New Orleans. He currently serves as Senior Contributing Faculty member at Walden University in the Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership. He assists in coordination of the EdD in Special Education doctoral capstone in the Division of Early Childhood, Special Education and Professional Licensure. Jay has published several books in the field of special education as well as numerous journal articles. He is an accomplished speaker and has presented sessions at local, state, national and international conferences. He has served as principal investigator on state and federally funded grants.
