Dr. Jaime Sampayo is a contributing faculty member at Walden in the Ph.D. Management Program. He works in three industries--management, education and law; as a management consultant, with over 26 years of leading people, specifically legal and human resources office staff. Dr. Sampayo specializes in process management law and teaching/training. He has worked overseas and in the continental United States as an attorney and has taught at as an adjunct professor of law and business for several universities and at the United States Air Force Academy, where he taught law, management and Spanish. In the Air Force, Dr. Sampayo served as a judge, trial & defense counsel, and mediator; handling a myriad of general civil law matters plus arbitration cases and courts-martial. His service included work as a Foreign Area Officer (Latin America Region), and he was Airborne qualified.
Currently, Dr. Sampayo works as the Employee Management Relations Officer at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado; and is part owner of the management consulting firm--Sampayo & Rushing Consulting Group, and the law firm--Sampayo & Sampayo, Attorneys at Law. He previously served as Acquisitions Program Manager at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado; handling satellite and cyber-security contract issues.
Dr. Sampayo holds a Doctorate of Management (Organizational Development & Change) from Colorado Technical University, Colorado; an L.L.M., Master of Laws (International Law) from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium; a J.D. (Juris Doctor, Law) from Creighton University School of Law, Nebraska; an M.B.A. (Management) from Angelo State University, Texas; a B.B.A. (Accounting) form Texas A&M (Kingsville), Texas; and an A.A.S. (Finance) from the Community College of the Air Force, Alabama. His research interests are in leadership models from human resources and legal perspectives as well as conflict resolution.
