Dr. Jacqueline Thomas is a Contributing Faculty and Lead Faculty Member of the CSBS- PSPA program at Walden University. She is a recipient of the School of Public Policy and Administration's (SPPA) Award for Excellence in Innovative approaches in teaching in 2016. Dr. Thomas' formal training is in Public Administration and Governance where she has served in various roles over her 34-year career.
Dr. Thomas has served on numerous doctoral student dissertation committees and has taught Political Science and Public Administration Courses at various colleges and universities in the United States and the Philippines. She also spent many years working for the public sector- first as an Investment Information Specialist for the Board of Investments in the Philippines , as Training Associate for the University of the Philippines Center for Women’s Studies and then as a Program Officer for the Japan International Cooperation Agency a job which she held for nine years - handling development assistance projects for the Japanese government, traveling all over Southeast Asia and Japan as an active member and coordinator of the Japan ASEAN youth exchange program and as a participant to various international training workshops and conferences. Her job prior to joining Walden was that of a public school teacher for the Florida public school system handling 4th-grade classes.
She lives in Florida with her husband her twelve - year old child, a Pekirat (short for Pekingese- Rat Terrier mix:) and a kitty cat In her spare time, in addition to teaching, she enjoys singing, traveling and watching the latest movies.
