Henny is a Licensed Professional Counselor and board approved supervisor with background in the field of mental health and information technology. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems. He worked as a computer programmer/software developer for over 10 years until he answered the call of God into the helping profession due to his services in the church as a minister. He went back to school and graduated from Argosy University Dallas with Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling. He also completed his PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision November 2019 from Walden University. Henny employs a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Reality Therapy, Multicultural Therapy, Logo Therapy, and Individual Therapy, individualized towards focusing on unique strengths and trauma informed. Henny has many years of clinical experience working with adults, young adults, couples, families, children, and adolescents with mental health needs, providing support as they work towards healing, stability and resilience in their recovery process. In addition, he provides pastoral counseling and has experience with parenting skills, divorce, co-parenting, grief and loss, pre-marital, and marital counseling. Henny is passionate about your recovery and he is an excellent listener. Henny possesses other skills such as empathy, problem-solving, rapport-building, and multicultural competency. Irrespective of your mental health needs, Henny will work with you to ensure that you achieve your life goal. Henny’s focus is to work collaboratively with individuals with mental health needs in a therapeutic relationship that is nonjudgmental, instills hope and enhances positive change. As a board approved LPC-Supervisor, henny has supervised college student interns. Henny continues to provide supervision for post-licensure LPC-Interns and Associates and student interns.
