Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
Dr. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, a Master of Science in Nursing degree, and a Doctorate in Health Administration, but began her career as a diploma nursing graduate. Her areas of clinical experience are adult critical care, perinatal nursing, perinatal critical care, home health nursing, case management, and risk management. An interest in risk management lead to a dissertation study focused on the nursing process as a factor in allegations against nurses in malpractice lawsuits. The findings of the study apply to all areas of nursing practice.
Dr. Johnson has taught nursing at the practical nursing, associate degree, baccalaureate degree, and graduate degree levels, both online and in traditional brick-and-mortar settings. She has taught and practiced in a variety of geographic and practice settings and maintains an interest in transculturalism as applied to both healthcare and education.
