Dr. Erica Sciarra’s formal training is as a certified Adult Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has been practicing nursing for 15+ years. Dr. Sciarra had previously served as undergraduate nursing faculty at a private university in New Jersey. She then began teaching at the graduate level in 2012. Dr. Sciarra has experience teaching online and in traditional brick and mortar schools. She has served as both didactic and clinical faculty at Walden University since 2014 teaching Advanced Pathophysiology, Advanced Practice Care of Frail Elders, and Synthesis of Advanced Practice Primary Care. While employed at Walden University, Dr. Sciarra has served as a member of the MSN- NP Scholarship Committee, SON Assessment Council, Dean’s Working Group and Chair of the School of Nursing MSN-NP Curriculum Committee. Dr. Sciarra earned her Certified Nurse Educator credential in 2014 from the NLN in 2014.
