Eric Bliss lives in Austin, TX and is married to a beautiful Japanese/Honduran woman, Michiko. His PhD is in Environmental Chemistry though he most recently completed a post-doc certificate in business admin. focused on project management. Eric has worked outside of academia in process development (catalysts), nuclear research (transuranics and high-level radioactive waste), as a field engineer (oil industry offshore wireline apps and mass spectrometry drug discovery tools), and as a pool manager while coaching swimming & soccer, teaching high school math and science, and instructing at Space Camp. Traveling to Dubna, Russia for a 2-wk NATO conference was a great cultural experience for Eric, as was leading 4 service trips to Costa Rica and teaching in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Eric loves to travel, read, watch movies, enjoy the lake, ride a Harley, and he is a sound engineer for two bands. At Walden, Eric supervises faculty and manages projects as the Associate Director of the Center for General Education.
