Emma J. Smith received her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Walden University in August 2024. She currently serves as part-time Contributing Faculty in the MS Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Walden University. She teaches or has taught Theories of Counseling, and Pre-Practicum 1. She has also taught Intro to Western Philosophy at another college, as well as several lectures on human sexuality through the Integrative Sex Therapy Institute. Professionally, Dr. Smith has worked as a licensed professional counselor in a variety of settings including in-patient, community agencies and private practice. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee (Lic. No. 7400, effective 9/2024), Texas (Lic. No. 72052, effective 2/2016), Virginia (Lic. No. 0701008031, effective 11/2018) and the District of Columbia (Lic. No. PRC15436, effective 3/2021), and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland (Lic. No. LC10930, effective 10/2020). has a number of publications and presentations on community-based and health-related research projects.
