Dayna Herrera
Nursing education is my declared area of excellence. I have been employed as a full time tenured track faculty member in Colleges of Nursing for 11 years. I have been in nursing education for over 13 years, a registered nurse for over 28 years with a primary focus in areas of pediatric oncology, informatics, education, simulation and leadership. I am committed to the continued enhancement of nursing and health professions education at local, regional, national, and international levels. As a tenured faculty member in the College of Nursing and Department Chair of the Learning Resource Center (LRC) and Interprofessional Education ( IPE) California Baptist University , I enact this commitment by using my knowledge, experience, and scholarship in teaching students aspiring to become nurses, nursing educators and scholars; expanding my knowledge of pedagogical research; mentoring practicing health profession educators seeking to enact new, evidence based practice or to study the effects of their efforts; and leading national initiatives directed toward transforming nursing and health professions education with the priority of protecting the public and enhancing patient care and safety.
