Dr. David W. Moffett is a Contributing Faculty Member in the Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership at Walden University. Leadership experience includes serving as Dean and Associate Dean in Schools of Education, as well as Chair of three Education Divisions and Department. Dr. Moffett's doctorate in Educational Leadership and Interdisciplinary Evaluation is from Indiana University. Research interests include leadership, teaching and learning, student perceptions of programs, program design and redesign, instructional leadership, assessment design, data driven continuous improvement, accreditation, faculty and staff efficacy, higher education history and philosophy, school environments, and online teaching and learning. Dr. Moffett is a pioneer in online education. He delivered a university's first all online course in 1998, and has since designed and launched online degree programs. He possesses 35+ years experience in database systems design. Voted a college's faculty member of the year in 2008, a leading educator of the world in 2005, and finalist for a university's excellence in teaching award in 2003, Dr. Moffett's honors include initiation into three international education honor societies and selection for Who's Who Among America's Educators. Dr. Moffett led an education association of 22 independent colleges and universities as President. He is the longest serving Board Member, Treasurer, and President-elect of an education association for 54 public and private colleges and universities. As a member of the professoriate, Dr. Moffett is in his third decade of higher education teaching. He has designed and taught 56 different college courses including the Doctoral Research Seminar.
