Dr. Daphne Harris Brown's formal training and teaching has been in the Early Education/Instructional Leadership where she has served in management in Early Education for 10 years, as an adjunct instructor, including within a virtual setting, for 6 years, and as an Early Childhood Consultant for 4 years. Her career and discovery of her love of Early Education began with her as a practitioner inside the classroom. Dr. Brown served as and Early Childhood Educator for over 7 years followed by directing franchised facilities as well as small business owned facilities. Her combined experience and expertise has lead her to join the prestigious staff of Walden University to share her knowledge and experience with aspiring practitioners. Dr. Brown will join the staff of Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership /School of Education.
Dr. Brown currently serves as Chair of the Washington County Mississippi Excel By Five Board as well as Chair of JMK School of Arts also located in Mississippi. She has standing memberships with National Association for the Education of Young Children, Child Development Association (which she also serves as a PD Specialist) , National Black Child Association, and National Head Start Association. She is also CLASS certified to conduct Early Education Classroom observations and assessments .
