Crystal Villanueva
Dr Villanueva has been a nurse since 2008. She has been in nursing education since 2019 as nursing faculty. She is currently contributing faculty at Walden University.
She has worked in multiple setting including long term care, acute care, inpatient psychiatric hospital, and outpatient clinic. Dr Villanueva started as an LVN then completed her ADN. After that, she acquired her BSN from the University of Texas at El Paso. Then she completed the BSN to DNP-Family Nurse Practitioner program at Loyola University New Orleans in 2015. While working as a Family Nurse Practitioner she realized the need for mental health providers to help address the mental health disparities, so she completed the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Post-Masters certification program at MidWestern State University. Though, she’s worked in multiple units/specialties as a nurse, her true passion is mental health. Currently she practices as a Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner.
