Corie Schoeneberg
Corie Schoeneberg, PhD is a Licensed Professional Counselor (Missouri & Virginia), Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, a Board-Certified Counselor, and a former School Counselor, and she serves as Contributing Faculty in Walden’s School of Counseling. Dr. Schoeneberg has 15 years counseling experience and specializes in play therapy and childhood mental health with an emphasis in trauma and attachment problems, and she has provided counseling services in the public-school system, private practice, non-profit, youth home, and military clinic settings. Dr. Schoeneberg is the author of over 15 publications, including the text Preparing for trauma work in clinical mental health: A workbook to enhance self-awareness and promote safe, competent practice, and her research interests focus on trauma, play therapy, childhood mental health, counselor education, cross-cultural supervision, and creative interventions. Dr. Schoeneberg is an international and keynote presenter, and she provides clinical and play therapy supervision, consultation services, and interdisciplinary trainings. With a long history in play therapy leadership and service, Dr. Schoeneberg is a Past President of the Missouri Association for Play Therapy, serves as the Chair for the University Education Committee for the Association for Play Therapy, and was the recipient of the 2020 Emerging Leader Award for the Association for Play Therapy.
