Christy Bowen received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) at Capella University in 2018. She currently serves as Contributing Faculty for the College of Nursing DNP Program at Walden University. Dr. Bowen began as a part-time faculty member at Walden University’s School of Nursing in 2022. Her current role is to serve as committee chair, first or second member of doctoral project study committees, serve as a University Research Reviewer, and participate in the DNP Program and University-based Residencies. She also serves as Universal Capstone Mentor, Dissertation, Professional Doctorate Capstone Mentor, University Research Review (URR) and Proseminar. Dr. Bowen teaches Methodology courses or modules within the DNP program at Walden University. She has also taught numerous Associate Degree pre-licensure courses, RN to BSN courses and core MSN level courses at other Universities. Professionally, Dr. Bowen has worked as a Nursing Education Consultant (NEC) and specializes in curriculum development and revision. Dr. Bowen has served as a content and subject matter expert assisting Nursing schools across the US transitioning to a Concept-based curriculum. She has also developed several post-licensure programs such as RN to BSN, RN-MSN, and RN-DNP.
