Christopher B Jones PhD is Contributing Faculty in the School of Public Policy and Administration. His background is in political science and futures studies. He serves as chair and mentor, second member, and URR on dissertation committees, and serves as a Residency PhD faculty and occasionally as administrator. Jones has worked at Walden for 11 years, both full-time and part-time, taught a dozen courses in the program, and has served on school and university curriculum and policy committees. He currently serves on the executive board of the Buffalo Niagara chapter of the American Society for Public Administration and has served on numerous nonprofit boards. Jones primarily supervises qualitative dissertations, with a particular expertise in phenomenological, ethnographic, and case study methodologies. Substantive interests include women and gender, climate change, food security, space development, social movements, sustainability and resilience, Africa and Oceania, and all things cyber. He has developed residency Colloquia workshops on the Sustainable Development Goals and on postnormal policy/futures studies. He is a graduate of the University of Hawaii futures program and was Secretary-General of the World Futures Studies Federation (2001-2005). He is also currently a Senior Fellow of the Centre for Postnormal Policy and Futures Studies (London/BarcelonaKula Lumpur).
