Dr. Christian J. Dean has been a faculty member for over 14 years, of which the last 10 years have been full time. He also works in a limited private practice at Counseling for Growth, LLC in Baton Rouge, LA where he specializes in working with couples and families. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor (LPC-S), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Supervisor Candidate (LMFT-SC) in Louisiana, and is a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Dr. Dean is a Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom III and currently serves as the Deputy Commander-Administration for the Louisiana Medical Detachment, Louisiana Army National Guard and holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Dr. Dean participated as a collaborative investigator for the DSM-5 Field Trials in Routine Clinical Practice Settings and has presented on numerous topics at international, national, regional and state conferences. He has published articles on interpersonal trauma and grief associated with infidelity and ethical considerations for dual licensed professionals. He is the co-editor of Metaphors and Therapy: Enhancing Clinical Supervision and Education, Volume 1.
