Dr. Cheryl Christ-Libertin, faculty at Walden University College of Nursing since 2017, serves as contributing faculty for NURS 6052 Essentials of Evidence-Based Practice and Coordinator for Continuing Nursing Education.
Dr. Christ-Libertin earned an undergraduate (BSN) and master’s degree (MS) from Ohio State University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Walsh University. Nursing practice experience includes specialization in pediatric nursing care as (a) a clinician in the acute care (hematology-oncology, neurosurgery case, management), primary care, and home palliative care settings; (b) a case manager, staff development specialist, research coordinator, and evidence-based practice mentor; and (3) an educator including undergraduate clinical instructor, Arts in Hospitals, and Interprofessional Collaboration.
Professional certifications include primary care pediatric nurse practitioner, staff development specialist, and nurse executive. Professional presentations and peer reviewed publications include evidence-based practice program development, the ANCC Magnet journey, and planned changes in practice based on evidence. Professional service includes membership on the editorial advisory board for the Journal of Continuing Education in Nursing, conference abstract review, grant review, and item writing. Professional organization involvement includes the American Nurses Association, Ohio Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International, Epsilon and Phi Nu chapters.
On a personal note, Dr. Christ-Libertin enjoys book club discussions, butterfly gardening, yoga, hiking, bicycling, travel, and a Morkie puppy.
