In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Green is a New York State Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Use Counselor- Master Supervisor level (CASAC-M). She has held this credential since 2013 and completes the required CEUs every 3 years to maintain it. She earned her Ph.D. in Criminal Justice with a specialization in DWI recidivism rates in 2019. Her Masters is in Forensic Mental Health and her Bachelors degree is in Psychology. Dr. Green has worked with the substance use treatment population in inpatient, outpatient, drug court, long term residential facilities and federal parolee housing. She has published multiple textbooks on substance use counseling and evidence-based treatment practices as well as research articles in the substance use field.
Her passion is supporting adult learners in gaining the education and experience they need to become substance use professionals.
