Dr. Breanne (Bre) Hiivala Cahoy is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) in the state of Minnesota. She holds a Sexual Assault Victims Advocacy certificate from the Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MNCASA). Dr. Cahoy has a masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and College Counseling and Student Development from St .Cloud State University. Dr. Cahoy received her Doctorate of Education in Counselor Education and Supervision from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2020. Her dissertation was titled, “An Examination of the Relationship between Nature Relatedness, Nature Exposure, and Quality of Work Life among Student Affairs Professionals.”

Dr. Cahoy (she/her) has worked in college career counseling and EAP settings, providing high quality interventions for students and employees facing complex home and work life issues. She has provided clinical supervision to graduate counseling students teaching in career readiness programs. She has also worked in a campus setting as a sexual assault victims advocate and is passionate about social justice. She has a special interest in nature-based therapy (Ecotherapy) and believes that connecting with nature can boost healing and mental health.
