Bonnie Kaul Nastasi, Ph.D. (Kent State University, 1986, School Psychology & Early Childhood Education) is Contributing Faculty Member at Walden University in the School of Psychology. Dr. Nastasi’s research focuses on the use of mixed methods designs to develop and evaluate culturally appropriate assessment and intervention approaches for promoting mental health and reducing health risks such as sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV, both within the US and internationally. She is active in promotion of child rights and social justice within the profession of school psychology. She has published extensively on participatory approaches to cultural construction of school programming, child rights and school psychology, and qualitative and mixed methods research methods. Dr. Nastasi is past-president for Division 16 (School Psychology) of the American Psychological Association (APA) and past co-chair of APA’s Committee on International Relations in Psychology (CIRP). She is Division 16 representative to APA Council, and Past-President of the International School Psychology Association. She received the Senior Scientist Award from Division 16 of APA in 2019.
