Beth Amey
Dr. Beth Amey received her Ph.D. from Florida Atlantic University in Educational Leadership, her MSW from Marywood College in Scranton, PA and her BSW from Bloomsburg University, Bloomsburg, PA. Dr. Amey's practice experience includes administration and direct services in alternative education programs, community adult programs, and adolescent residential facilities. Dr. Amey spent 2 1/2 years as the Executive Director of a community substance abuse and mental health center and currently works at Indian River State College as Program Director. Previously she held the position of Director of Student Success/Assistant Professor in Practice at UT Arlington focusing on student retention. Prior to this position, she worked for Florida Atlantic University for almost 8 years, initially as Director of Academic Programs and then as Field Faculty in the School of Social Work. Her teaching and research interests include field education, adult learning, and mezzo social work.
