Beryl Watnick

Dr. Watnick is a former Special Education teacher and Early Childhood administrator with Miami Dade County Public Schools. She has written several infant toddler, parenting and family literacy grants and operated 12 family resource centers throughout the county including the Homestead migrant community, East Little Havana, and a women's correctional facility. She has also been an Early Head Start director. Dr. Watnick has been trained in neuroscience and early childhood and presented on the topic both nationally and internationally. She became a lactation counselor to further her understanding of the mother child bond as well as the health issues that are impacted by breastfeeding. Her professional experiences in higher education include serving as the director of an M.Ed. program, dean of an undergraduate university and doctoral faculty.
