Barbara Walsh

Dr. Walsh earned undergraduate degrees in biology and nursing, a Master of Public Health and MSN in Community Health Nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. She has almost 30 years of community/public health experience, including teaching for about 12 years.
At Walden, she is a Contributing Faculty in the RN to BSN program teaching Global Health. Her interests are maternal-child health nursing, particularly maternal and infant mortality. This includes the roles of male reproductive health and male preconceptional health in infant mortality.
Dr. Walsh is a member of the American Public Health Association, the American Nurses Association and the North Carolina Nurses Association. She also was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Theta Tau and the Golden Key International Honour Society.
Her DNP research focused on nurse practitioners in Virginia providing male reproductive care as outlined in Healthy People 2020.
