Dr. Balaman currently serves as Contributing Faculty in the BS in Psychology program at the College of Psychology and Community Services. She received her PhD in Educational Psychology and Individual Differences from the University of Houston. Throughout her doctoral training she has assisted in teaching a variety of face-to-face, on-line, and hybrid courses in educational psychology, public health, and human development, with a component of teaching research writing. In addition to contributing to research studies involving motivational and emotional experiences of college students and coordinating and mentoring an undergraduate health research lab, she has also served as student member and reviewer for the University of Houston Institutional Review Board.
