Dr. Astrid Carrington is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor in the State of Texas and is an AAMFT Supervisor Candidate. A clinician since 2010 and a counselor educator since 2016, Dr. Carrington co-owns a group practice in Austin, Texas where she helps kids, individuals, and families while serving as a Contributing Faculty Member at Walden University. She holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision and MS in Human Services: Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling from Capella University’s CACREP programs. Her area of research focuses on the intersectionality of women and transgender mental health by uplifting their own voices. As Chair-Elect of the Queer and Trans Advocacy Network of the AAMFT, she is currently serving as an editor for a national release of gender affirming care guidelines for clinicians.
