In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Prior to her employment in the educational arena, Dr. Hubbard practiced nursing in areas such as Medical-Surgical nursing, Intensive Care, Progressive Care and Neurosurgery. Dr. Hubbard has been a site visitor for ACEN for over 10 years and has served on the Evaluation Review Panel for five years. Dr. Hubbard served as a board member and chair of the education committee for the Florida Board of Nursing.
Dr. Hubbard has been a co-author of two books designed to assist nursing students in the clinical setting. A third book that Dr. Hubbard co-authored was designed to assist new nursing faculty in the clinical setting. In addition, Dr. Hubbard has been a contributing author to a textbook for nurse practitioners using differential diagnosis guidelines.
Dr. Hubbard has presented at national and international nursing and non-nursing conferences. Various topics that Dr. Hubbard has presented on include: rapid response teams, mentoring minority students, recruiting and retaining qualified faculty, mentoring new nursing faculty, and evaluating student performance in the clinical setting.
