Dr. Amity Glenn-Chase began her career in early childhood education in 2010 as a classroom teacher in a Head Start model, where she fostered strong partnerships with families and focused on supporting children’s growth through inclusive, developmentally appropriate practices. She later served as an instructional coach, mentoring and training early childhood educators across diverse school settings with an emphasis on curriculum design, literacy development, and trauma-informed teaching.
Her doctoral research focused on trauma-informed practice in teacher preparation, examining how educators are trained to recognize and respond to the impact of trauma on student learning and behavior. Through this work, Dr. Glenn-Chase explored strategies to better equip teachers with the knowledge, empathy, and tools necessary to create safe, supportive, and equitable learning environments for all children.
In addition to her work in schools, Dr. Glenn-Chase has taught at the university level as an adjunct professor, preparing future educators to meet the complex needs of young children and their communities. Her research and practice interests include early literacy, trauma-informed education, and building equitable learning environments.
